Astrology in September 2025 – Saturn Retrogrades into Pisces
by Robert Wilkinson Saturn re-enters Pisces at 1:07 am PDT September 1 where it will remain until it re-enters Aries in late February en route to its “fateful conjunction” with Neptune resuming the initiation of a new collective era. What can we expect in this reprise of Saturn in Pisces? All retrogrades are a re-tracing and review of sections of the zodiac we already experience once before. In this case, Saturn transited between 26 and 30 Pisces in April and May, and will occupy the same span while retrograde between now and early November, where it goes SD at 26 Pisces. So in September we’re getting a second look at the lessons Saturn first gave us between late April and late May, and in October we’ll get a second look at the lessons of April. So Saturn will be in the individual, mental, and spiritual part of ‘perpetuation” half of Pisces through late February. This retrograde will give us a second look at our future dreams as things fall apart, our sense of abundance and our ability to use our creative imagination to redeem something, and our ability to do our own thing in our own way. Then we’ll get to move forward over the same span between mid-November and late February before resuming our Saturn in Aries lessons. Think of this as a deja vu experience, since we've already been down this road before, and now get to "go back" and finish our Pisces lessons before entering the 15 year Neptune in Aries era. Wherever we have late Pisces and early Aries will be a point of focus from now through April. This retrograde will bring us “flashes of understanding” from the past, and certainly is laying the structure for the radical changes and transformations promised by both Saturn and Neptune moving back into Aries in early 2026. This shift of signs also means that wherever we have Capricorn and Aquarius in our charts now has a more late Pisces emphasis instead of the early Aries influence of June, July, and August. Obviously it will bring added pressure to any planets or points we may have in late Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo as well as the middle degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. This will prove a very productive time for those with planets or points in late Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces. There is tremendous awareness potential for those with planets or points in late Virgo, and it’s the end of the end for those with a planet or Ascendant in late Pisces. I speak extensively of Saturn’s influence on the Ascendant , as well as its conjunctions, squares, and oppositions to other points in our charts in my book Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend. Those sections explain the nature of the “hard choices and lessons” Saturn can bring during conjunctions, squares, and oppositions, showing us how we have the power to shape our future destiny by how we respond to our challenges, refusing to be the victim of external forces by mobilizing our Divine Understanding to serve the fulfillment of our purpose for being on Earth. So let’s all welcome Saturn’s re-entry into Pisces! If you have a planet in the latter degrees of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius, you’ll begin to vibrate to the different Saturn energy visiting that planet which will help you claim your mastery over that part of yourself by exercising Saturn’s virtues. Saturn in Pisces will finish our lessons involving those sign qualities, continuing our growth in understanding how what has to end this year will serve our Aries expansion next year. As I told you in March 2023 when Saturn first entered Pisces, face the future (in a retrograde way this time!) and use your experience to continue to learn how to claim authorship of your view, your philosophy, and your ongoing transformational potential. This is a "back to the future" period, where we re-enter Pisces at the end of the sign rather than the beginning of the sign. Take responsibility, but remember we're in a great realignment, of individuals, groups, and nations. Many things are ending for us all. Those who have a mature spiritual view will find many opportunities to manifest control of their larger destiny, while others will break free of old binding spiritual attitudes and find a greater dance in a greater reality.
