New Year’s Eve Early Show Celebrating the 2021 Birthday of the Remarkable Marianne Faithfull

December 29 is the birthday of one of the most distinctly beautiful voices of the British Invasion!

Marianne Faithfull (29 December 1946) is an English singer, songwriter and actress discovered by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham. She went straight to the top with her remarkable voice coupled with her relationship with Mick Jagger, and straight down due to the excesses of a rock and roll lifestyle hanging with the Stones. A while ago she made a comeback, and is still loved and respected for her talents. She's been in movies, and still performs these days. Today we'll revisit some from her early career. For your enjoyment, a few from the ever-beautiful Marianne Faithful!

Her first hit! Here’s a live 1964 performance of “As Tears Go By” (She’s 17 in this video! And I know it says 1965, but this is the 1964 appearance.)
