The October 2024 Full Moon of 25 Aries-Libra Pt. 2 – Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Seeing Through the Changes Expressed By Redeeming A Promise

As most of you know, the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This Full Moon helps us see recent losses in a different light as we stand on yet another “threshold” of a new individual spirituality in us.

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this fracturing Lunation occurring at 4:26 am PDT on October 17 at 25 Libra/Aries.

This Full Moon has Sun in Libra and Moon in Aries, indicating the Light of a social or emotional ideal can be expressed through Aries’ sense of direct action as it self-mobilizes on its own terms. The Light of emotional and/or social repair can now be expressed through new forms of emotional or social potency which began awakening 8 years ago. This is the Libra light of reconstructing or repairing something as a result of dues paid in the past, or dues paid in the present. This Light is expressed through doing our own thing in our own way, and not waiting around for permission to do it.

Because the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, this will bring the themes of the New Moon Solar eclipse at 11 Libra to fulfillment. Those involved finding new ways to communicate spiritual knowledge in the context of a larger vision, and finding a balanced approach to interactions. This Full Moon will fracture a lot while at the same time giving us unique opportunities to blow out old tensions and pent-up energies.

Because Libra/Aries is the axis of the archetype of the Lover, or Relator, we can now be at ease in our dance with others, being flexible as we move through the normal transactions of life. This teaches us a more rhythmic, graceful, and balanced interaction with others so that we may reveal or reconstruct the ideal Self we believe we want to shine into our world.

The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Cardinal Air (associative interactivity) of Libra expressing its refined ideal view through the Cardinal Fire (Inspiration) of Aries. Because Libra is so strong, find a harmony of balanced interactive activity while taking measured steps into the future. Be patient as you move through the fracturing of the Grand Cardinal Cross. This begins a run of Full Moon themes of getting clear on the emotional and social levels of existence.

At this time, 1 planet is in the first third of their sign, 1 planets is in the second third of their signs, and EIGHT planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a major emphasis in the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with almost no emphasis on the social and emotional field and only Mercury active in the actional-material field

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when we’ve completed most of the inner planet oppositions to the outer planets. In this chart we have 2 forming oppositions, the Moon opposed the Sun and Mars opposed Pluto. This creates 2 “awareness generator” zones, the first focused between 23-27 Libra/Aries and the second at 21-30 Cancer/Capricorn.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Libra, ruled by Venus in Scorpio. The Moon is in Aries, ruled by Mars in Cancer. Venus Is ruled by Mars, and Mars is ruled by the Moon, showing the latter pair is a “Mutual Recpetion,” a very powerful closed circuit of self-reinforcing energies.

Besides the Lunation, Mercury is in Scorpio, ruled by Mars. Jupiter is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, and Saturn’s in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter. Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in Pisces, and as usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

That makes the Moon and Mars the final dispositors ruling all the other planets except for Venus, which is “final dispositor.” That makes the Moon and Mars very powerful as the backdrop to the energies of this Lunation. As the Moon and Mars are in square, it promises a lot going on, so try not to get aggravated at the swirl of activity! Extricate yourself by showing patience and good humor.

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 25 Libra and 25 Aries. It is said that the third third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Gemimi/Mercury (with an added dose of Jupiter) and Sagittarius/Jupiter (with an added dose of Venus).

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 25th degree of Libra is “Information in the symbol of an autumn leaf.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree symbolizes the “discovery of deeper elements of wisdom after intellectual knowledge wearies” and “growth through awareness of basic meanings.”

In the Astrological Mandala, he states this degree is “the ability to discover in every experience a transcendent or cosmic meaning.” He says “the mind open to multifarious wonders of natural processes, because it sees everything with fresh eyes, not only witnesses simple fact, but pierces through appearances and perceives the great rhythms of universal life. Without such a faculty the aspirant to spiritual realities is always looking for “elsewhere.” Yet the spirit, life, God is ever present, here and now. And every death is an omen of rebirth.”

He offers that this brings the four preceding stages “to a new state of consciousness which is truly the spiritual state. It is a state of clair-seeing, or ‘seeing through.’ This world is illusion only to the individual who cannot see through its phenomena and fails to apprehend the reality these phenomena reveal even as they conceal it.” He says it falls in the span of Revelation, and it’s the final degree of the social and emotional level of the Scene of Reconstruction in the Act of Group Integration.

Dr. Marc E. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, states that this is a symbol of our “stark resourcefulness on the side of imagination or inner experience.” He goes on to say “human intelligence becomes a fundamental sensitiveness to the final ends that may be served, and to the efficient means that may be shaped for the welfare of self and others.”

He offers “there is here a capacity to see the world and the individual in continual interdependence, and to understand the mutual contribution to each other of all the varying aspect of life.” He gives us the keyword TACT, and says when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “spontaneous adaptability and an unswerving and instinctive fidelity to ultimate goals and meanings.”

The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 25th degree of Aries is “A double promise." In his masterwork The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, he says this is a degree of “fortuitous cooperation between inner and outer elements of being," and "a sense of responsibility to self or to society."

In the Astrological Mandala, he states this degree symbolizes a probationary stage, where we must learn to shape our minds in a form that can accept a potential future fulfillment. It is a degree of "revelation of new potentialities," and a "guarantee that (we) can operate successfully at two levels of consciousness," if we have been open, ready, willing, and able to shape our "translucent mind in the form revealing spiritual fulfillment."

We are told that this symbolizes an implied message of faith, where we can "truly experience what (we) deeply believe (we) can experience." He offers this "announces the possibility of a new step in evolution," but it is a promise rather than an actuality. He says it falls in the span of Examination, and it's the final degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Potency in the Act of Differentiation.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this is a degree of “stark resourcefulness on the side of everyday experience.” He continues “for each potentiality that life may offer (us) there are alternatives of equal or supplementary value” which can be recognized, as well as the “pertinence of everything” that grabs our attention.

He says this degree is "unlimited capacity for seeing the world and self both inwardly and outwardly, and offers us the keyword SENSIBILITY. He states that when operating in a positive way, this degree is "a facility of adjustment by which everything in a given situation may be brought into the fullest co-operation with everything else."

From these symbols it seems the Light of this Full Moon will help us adapt to better serve our ultimate goals and see recent losses in the light of Nature’s cycles. This will be expressed in understanding that life holds a promise for each of us if we can figure out how to make things cooperate with each other.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape for the next 16-17 years. The next few weeks renews that Aquarius pulse, and promises 2024 to be a very “Aquarian” year!

We’re seeing the competition between the Capricorn and Aquarian cycles play out in the world between the regressives and the progressives, between the forces of control and the forces which resist control, and between the materialists and the idealists. The Capricorn cycles will be in play for many years to come, but by mid-century they will wane while the Aquarian cycles will have become dominant.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
