Conjunctions

Hi guys! I’m a beginner and a little confused as to how to identify a conjunction. I was listening to Chris Brennan’s podcast and they mentioned that a conjunction happens when planets are close together or in the same sign. Maybe I misunderstood but is there a specific amount of degrees that make up a conjunction ? When reading a birth chart, I always thought conjunctions only happened when planets where less than 10 degrees apart.

Diana Garland and Bracha Goldsmith have both youtube channels with multiple 10k followers and used to upload astrology content on a regular basis for years. However they both stopped at some point & we never posted on their platforms anymore!
