Question about understanding the houses.

Hi, everyone! I’m trying to learn how to read natal charts. I realized recently that there seems to be a difference between signs in our houses versus the house rulers. Can anybody explain to me what the difference is between a sign being in a house versus a sign that rules the house? That’s something that is confusing to me at the moment. Thank you so much!

Diana Garland and Bracha Goldsmith have both youtube channels with multiple 10k followers and used to upload astrology content on a regular basis for years. However they both stopped at some point & we never posted on their platforms anymore!
