New Moon in Aquarius

The February 1st Aquarius New Moon (12 deg, 12:46 am EST) conjoins Saturn (15 deg) and is squared by Uranus in Taurus (10 deg). This is a beginning that will remind you of what you cannot do/must do versus liberation from what was.  

What starts will be defined and perhaps formal. But the separating square from Aquarius' ruler means you may feel trapped or this scenario will hit suddenly and unexpectedly. New rules, new order, new limits that you never saw coming. 

Not a fun influence but the crisis between limits versus freedom can position you to break new ground even as you play by the rules. You are starting something so it's a chance to set fresh boundaries, take your responsibilities in a different direction or carve out a new place for yourself in the collective. The public, social media, friendships, technology, the future and individuation will be themes. 

Also today, Juno (relationship contracts) enters a new sign (Aquarius) so again, that theme of starting fresh. Partnership agreements will involve some detachment - they could be quite impersonal. It will be important to respect each other's individuality and the commitment to mutual freedom. Perhaps this will be about partnerships that are also friendships, or a contract with someone in your social sphere. 

Also, Venus in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) conjoins Vesta (11 deg) so this New Moon will involve a focus on personal boundaries or relationship responsibilities. Vesta is extreme devotion or tunnel vision. With Venus there will be something desired that is sacred - whether for yourself or another, the structure of what you're fixated on will either be disrupted or redefined by this New Moon. You could be truly alone and independent for the first time. Or, your happiness will be defined in a new way while becoming a non-negotiable issue. 

Capricorn and Aquarius both feature independence- Aquarius breaks from the crowd while Capricorn builds authority within the rules. The emphasis on these signs during this Moon will make for a cool vibe that encourages you to stand on your own, even if you're partnered with someone.
