April 30th, 2021: The Doorway

  • Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus (10 deg)

  • Pluto Rx in Capricorn square Ceres in Aries (26 deg)

Sun/Uranus delivers change via impatience/risk taking/disruption. The sudden urge to overhaul your routine, the abrupt update to what you own or the itchy sense that your current circumstances have become too small are examples of this transit in action.

Uranus triggers change through detachment. A loss or surprise is meant to pull you away from what has become limiting. Taurus stability is excellent but the dark side of this is preservation of what's no longer fertile (the barren soil of fear, suppression or reliance on something/someone that keeps you trapped).

Detachment forcibly opens your eyes to what else is out there. Detachment blasts you with a hard light so you can see and feel how the old relationship/habit is dry and hollow. Allow yourself to be pulled away, even if you experience unnerving moments of weightlessness.

Some of you may already have an exciting new purpose in your sights. Others may be thrashing around, wondering where you can land.  Whether you have a new goal or not, know that you are on the threshold of something fresh and vital but the course has not been set just yet. Exhale and move forward but don't worry about mapping out the path ahead - for now, trust that what you need (new versions of security, values, resources) will appear. How can you know this will happen? Because you just made room for it by stepping away/being pulled away.

Pluto/Ceres delivers a dark echo of the above change. Ceres is the cycle of nurturing and loss - she (a crop goddess) has a relationship with Pluto (Lord of the Underworld). When they meet in a hard square, there's a crisis that means "death" (metaphorical or literal) and the end of a season. The crops always die. The warm weather turns colder. You must move through this cycle so you can arrive at the next spring and new growth.

This square can confront you with deep fear of loss, even as you nurture something new (Aries). There's risk as you boldly put yourself on the line and Pluto Rx can be the old stuff, dragging you back and creating resistance. Notice the tension between Aries' youthful surge forward and Capricorn's older, colder whispers. The temporary pull backwards is meant to dig out the last, stubborn bits of your outdated foundation.

You can view this Pluto/Ceres square as the doorway between winter (Capricorn) and spring (Aries). Step through the doorway - detach from the past so you can thrive in the growing warmth.
