Placidus vs. Whole Signs

Anyone know about any history of the placidus chart method? For this who use placidus, how do you reconcile 2 or more houses sharing one sign (meaning some signs rule no houses)? I use both methods but these days am questioning placidus more and more as I do birth charts of people born far away from the equator.

Diana Garland and Bracha Goldsmith have both youtube channels with multiple 10k followers and used to upload astrology content on a regular basis for years. However they both stopped at some point & we never posted on their platforms anymore!
